Based on the 1938 Irvin Airchute Co. pattern, the British Royal Air Force Sheepskin Flying Jacket represents the epitome of English heroism during WWII. Worn over London skies by English fighter pilots flying Spitfire and Hurricane fighters in air battles against Nazi forces, the RAF sheepskin bomber jacket provided the warmth and freedom of movement needed during combat. You will love the fit and feel of the RAF leather jacket. Please note that the shearling is tanned to “antique” as you wear it, giving “highs and lows” in the color so it looks as if you had the RAF flight jacket since WWII. This will not affect the durability of this product. Sheepskin varies from production to production but you’ll always receive the same craftsmanship and warmth.
